Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP)

TIPP was introduced in 2000 as a framework for providing postgraduate scholarships for people in other developing countries across the world. It focuses on topics of our expertise which can be categorized under five themes+1, namely Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP), Public Health, Climate Change and Environmental Issues, Agriculture and Food Security, Bio-Circular-Green Economy Model and Others (SDGs). It provides not only opportunities for participants to acquire academic knowledge but also a great opportunity to explore and deepen their understanding of Thailand, its rich culture and hospitality of Thai people.

Bilateral Long-Term Scholarships

Bilateral Long-term Scholarships: Undertaken bilaterally, this programme provides postgraduate scholarships in fields of mutual interest such as education, public health, agriculture, etc. It primarily focused on our neighbouring countries, namely Lao PDR, Cambodia and Myanmar. Now, it is expanded to other developing countries such as Bangladesh and Bhutan.

Trilateral Long-term Scholarships: This programme provides PhD scholarships to doctoral students from third countries supported by TICA and its partners ex. Joint Fellowship Programme for Doctoral Studies under Thai-Swedish trilateral cooperation.

Scholarships under Regional Frameworks

ACMECS
HRD Smart Scholarship for ACMECS countries is the scholarship programme under Goal 3 (Smart and Sustainable ACMECS of the Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy or “ACMECS” Master Plan (2019 – 2023)). The scholarship programme offers the Master’s degree programme to the 4 ACMECS member countries namely Cambodia, Loa PDR, Myammar and Vietnam and focuses on the topics related to the Thai government new economic model that is Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) in 5 sectors namely 1) Food and Agriculture 2) Bioenergy, Biomaterial and Biochemical 3) Medical and Wellness 4) Tourism and Creative Economy and 5) Other topics related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Remarks: 1. Eligible countries for applying are namely Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand. 2. The candidates can choose only 1 course/program from the list. 3. The candidates must fill in the online application form and prepare one (1) original with two (2) copies of each document as followed: 3.1 Application form (Download here) or scan from the above QR code 3.2 Medical report (If candidates had submitted other health certificates without the medical report form, their application will not be accepted for consideration) 3.3 Transcript of Bachelor’s degree (to show the courses that you have learnt throughout Bachelor’s degree) 3.4 Certificate of Bachelor’s degree 3.5 Recommendation Letter from at least 2 persons (1 person per letter) e.g. university instructor, supervisor in the candidates’ organization, employer etc. 3.6 English test score (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS) as required by the academic institution, especially the candidates who apply for the scholarship programme in the field of medical and wellness are strictly required to submitted the English test score. 4. TICA will only accept applications that are nominated by the National Focal Point for International Development Cooperation of the candidates’ countries (such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) or by relevant central government agencies, which have been sent through the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General in candidates’ countries/territories.

Other Scholarships

Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), Thailand, in cooperation with Thai universities invites nationals of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam to apply for Thailand Scholarships (Year 2023). Up to 68 scholarship programmes will be offered to qualified candidates from the four aforementioned countries to pursue master’s degrees or doctoral degrees at Thai higher education institutions.
