Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), in cooperation with the Faculty of Faculty of Agriculture, Chiang Mai University, organized an international training course on “Promoting Sustainable Rural Livelihood and Food Security through System-based Diversified Farming Practices under Sufficiency Economy Philosophy” during 7 – 25 November 2022 via an online platform. Participants who attend the course not less than 80% and received an E-certificate were 7 participants from 5 countries (Oman, the Philippines, Timor-Leste, Indonesia and Bahamas). Organized under TICA’s Annual International Training Course or AITC framework, this course aims to share the basic knowledge of diversified farming practices for sustainable agriculture and rural development by applying the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, which is Thailand’s homegrown approach in attempting to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The course also shares how local smallholder farmers contribute to food production and improve market access.
